Energy Release Racing Announces Continued Partnership with Bunke Racing
LEOMINSTER, MA. (December 21, 2018) - Energy Release, LLC is excited to announce a continued partnership with Bunke Racing for its 2018-2019 racing season. Sponsors in motorsports come and go, but Energy Release (ER) and Bunke Racing have been together for 24 seasons...it's an awesome partnership!
Drivers Gabe, Taylor and Boe Bunke will team-up again to compete in the United States X-Country snowmoible racing series. "We are proud to continue a longstanding partnership with Bunke Racing. We can't wait to see the milestones Bunke Racing reaches next," said Noel Schanilec, Energy Release Racing Consultant and owner for Applied Hi-Performance Products. Thanks to a team centered philosopy and a drive for continuous innovation, Energy Release/Bunking Racing has crossed many finish lines together over the years. Oh, and don't forget about the team's 7 career Soo I-500 victories. Bunke Racing team #74 piloted by Gabe Bunke, Aaron Christensen and Taylor Bunke took the checkered flag at the 2017 Soo I-500 in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan.
Following in the ski tracks of his Snowmobile Racing Hall of Fame father, Jerry Bunke, Gabe has achieved success in every form of racing he has attempted over a 27-year racing career. Gabe has made the history books with his 2002, 2005, 2012, 2013, 2014, 2016 and 2017 Soo I-500 wins. Taylor Bunke won the 2016 USXC Semi-Pro Factory Stock 600 class points championship. Taylor is a third generation racer...he has been working hard and has proved himself to be a force to be reckoned with.
Gabe truly believes in the Energy Release family of products and the benefits they provide to make his equipment the best that it can be. Gabe's race sleds are treated with Energy Release products which include: engine, bearings, chain case, suspension componets and more. Gabe's sled are well-oiled machines! Polaris with a 1-2-3 Podium Sweep | Gerald Dyrdahl Memorial Pine Lake Season Opener 12-16-18
Roseau, Minn. (December 17, 2018) - What a difference a year makes. No snow dust and temperatures hitting the 40 degree mark gave spectators perfect weather for this season opener.
Saturday would kick off with the Pro Open qualifier. #14 Taylor Bunke hit the track with his 600 R Polaris machine. Pro riders left the line screaming in search for a front row position. Bunke had a clean run placing him in the front row for the final. Bunke hit the final with one thing in mind - that checkered flag. Bunke came out fast and hard running for the first corner side by side with #537 Ryan Faust battling for the hole shot. #14 Bunke and #28 Justin Tate were hitting handlebars and changing positions in the laps leading up to the fuel stop. Bunke ran into tough luck - when his belt expoded a mere 300 yards after getting fuel and gaining track position. Bunke overcame the hurdle to contiune and finish what he started and would claim a 7th place finish.
#874 Boe Bunke had his throttle pinned all weekend. He would grab a 1st place finish in his first qualifying heat in the Jr. 14-17 class along with the fastest speed on the track. Bunke took 3rd in his 2nd qualifying heat. #874 would take the number one spot on the podium for the Jr. 14-17 class. Bunke also raced in the Expert 600 limited class. He grabbed 3rd in his first qualifying heat and a solid 2nd place finish in his second qualifier - landing him an overall 2nd place finish on the podium.
#74 Gabe Bunke would dominate the Masters 40 class on both Saturday and Sunday. Bunke had his machine dialed in and swept the number one spot on the podium.
Sunday the featrued race would be the Pro Factory 600. The first qualifier of the day would be imperative as the top Pro drivers were qualified within five seconds of each other. The Bunke boys earned their spot in the front row. #74 Gabe Bunke and #14 Taylor Bunke lined up handle bar to handle bar only spilt by six tenths of a second between the two. Twenty-five sleds took the green flag for the 10 lap final. The final race of the day would be one to go down in history as Polaris would take the top 3 spots on the podum for a podium sweep. "This makes all the hard work and preparations worth it especially when we can put Polaris on top with a 1-2-3 finish," said Gabe with a grin. SAULT STE. MARIE, MICHIGAN (February 4, 2017) - Back-to-Back wins again for the #74 Bunke Racing Team.
For the second year in a row, the strong #74 Bunking Racing Team goes to victory lane in one of the most prestigious snowmobile races in the world...The 49th Annual International 500 Snowmobile Race in Sault Ste. Marie, Michigan. The patriarch of Bunke Racing, Gabe Bunke, Moorhead,Minnesota, recorded his seventh Soo I-500 Win of his career and fifth in the last six years. His teammate, Aaron Christensen, the 36-year-old from Metiskow, Alberta, has scored his fifth Soo I-500 Win of his career and also his fifth in the last six years. Finally for the youngest member of the team, 21-year-old Taylor Bunke, it was the second win in two career starts for the Moorhead, Minnesota rider.
